About Museum of Sex
When the Museum of Sex first emerged on New York City’s Fifth Avenue on October 5, 2002, it was without precedent in the museum world. Today, it remains unparalleled in its revolutionary approach towards sex and sexuality.

In line with the Museum’s mission to present to the public the very best of sex scholarship from around the globe, the Mose[x] Store is curated to compliment the Museum’s past, current, and future exhibitions as well as to explore the advances in technology and design. The products offered in the Mose[x] store blur the distinctions between form and function and art and apparel, demonstrating how sex and sexuality have come to influence all facets of design.

The Mose[x] Store is a destination in and of itself featuring everything from one-of-a-kind signature products to those exclusively distributed through the Museum to the popular best sellers that our patrons have come to know and love. With spotlights on local artists as well as high end products from around the world, the store at the Museum of Sex is at the pulse of the modern consumer world.

For the past seven years, design has played a pivotal role in exhibition development, execution, and visual display. The new Mose[x] Store on Fifth Avenue was designed by the world-renowned design firm 2x4. With virgin white walls and a polished finish, the cutting edge modern interior of the space allows the colors, styles, and textures of the products to become an intrinsic part of the store’s aesthetic.

From its inaugural award winning exhibition, NYC SEX: How New York City Transformed Sex in America to its recent revolutionary foray in creating a new natural history with The Sex Lives of Animals, the Museum of Sex continually demonstrates its commitment to being an institution unlike any other. Founded by software entrepreneur Daniel Gluck, the Museum of Sex is wholly dedicated to the exploration of the history, evolution and cultural significance of sexuality.

In the past seven years the Museum of Sex has generated 15 exhibitions and 5 virtual installations each in keeping with the Museum’s mission of advocating open discourse surrounding sex and sexuality as well as striving to present to the public the best in current scholarship unhindered by self-censorship. With each new exhibition, lecture series, event and publication, the Museum of Sex is devoted to addressing a wide range of topics, while simultaneously highlighting material and artifacts from different continents, cultures, time periods and media.
